The Cranberries return with not only a beautiful compilation of their most popular songs, the album boasts three new songs as well. Something Else is kind of like a greatest hits compilation which marks 25 years since the Irish band’s formal release, the single “Dreams,” and every old song was re-recorded in 2016 acoustically with a string accompaniment (Irish Chamber Orchestra.)  “Why” was written a few years ago after singer Dolores O’Riordan’s father’s death; the new song captures the essence of mourning, yearning, and pushing forward through grief. On the other spectrum, “Rupture” and “The Glory” ebb and flow. Something Else is due out April 28th! (you can also pre-order a signed copy!)
