If you’re like me and were left scratching your head at Arcade Fire’s newest ways of promoting their new album Everything Now, then you’re not alone.  If you’re not familiar, well….first there were to be “dress code rules” at their Everything Now release show including a “phone-free viewing policy,” which took a big backlash online. Then it was the announcement, that you too, could be a proud owner of an Arcade Fire fidget spinner, for just $109!  I think after that point, I stopped being interested. It was just all a bit too weird for me. Well, I guess Arcade Fire wasn’t having anymore of it either. See, they weren’t even behind any of the publicity stunts. It was their now fired Publicist by the name of Tannis Wright. Arcade Fire released an apology for their social media campaign, stating that Tannis was entrusted to bring the album to the forefront using techniques which they were unfamiliar and uncomfortable with, but decided to try anyway. (Hell, he’s the publicist here right?) or should I say–WRIGHT? Anyway, he was also dishonest with the band, the fans, and therefore was let go. The band will be handling all of their own social media accounts from now on. I guess you could say we ARE talking about the album, and…Tannis was Arcade Fired…
