It’s Doctor Jack White now…
Jack White has made many contributions to music, but he’s also done so much for his community in Detroit. He helped restore a popular park, saved a Masonic Temple from foreclosure, and has just really brought the spotlight back to his hometown. It’s not lost on Wayne State University, as they recently awarded White with an honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters!
White attended Wayne State University before his music career in the 90s and took film classes, but dropped out to pursue music. He joked about being a busboy in the building at one point during his commencement speech. Check out video and photos of the occasion below!
